Torsion Springs

catalogue material news chiusura menu

Helical springs used to apply a torque or store rotational energy are commonly referred to as "torsion springs" and are typically found in single-bodied and double-bodied forms.
While single-bodied springs are coiled in from the ends, double-bodied springs are coiled out from the center allowing both ends of the double spring to work together and provide unique torque for many different types of applications.

It is generally in case of extreme torque that two separately designed coil sections - one with a right hand twist and the other left-handed – are connected together creating a double-body. This allows the total torque to match the sum of the two coils combined.
